THE SUN STILL SHINES BRIGHT ON DARK DAYS.

Young black boy walking down the street. Best thing he owned were the Nikes on his feet, the clothes on his back, that smile with his teeth, living in the world where skin color is deceit. A cop rolled up and so he started to kick it. Big bro told him that’s life and how he should live it, but big bro locked up doing 25 to life. Daddy left home and mommas on the pipe. So, now he's just a young black boy who may never see the light, even on this day where the sun shines bright. As the story goes on the boy is still running. The cop gets fed up so, he decided to gun him. Pop pop! Two shots in the back, that's a man down. The cop had to finish him off so, he put one in his crown. Why'd the cop do it? Especially when the boy was down? Was his life threaten by the boy who now lies on the grown? What becomes of this cop who was cruising on the so-called bad side of town? Does he get a raise, a medal, a reward for gunning another black man down? It is one less hustler, gangster, robber, or what the black boy was presumed to be off the streets. Or maybe it was his duty to fill this town with more of the hate that already lingered around. The day is filled darkness, but the sun still shines bright. Now neighbors’, friends, and families all see the light. The boy had nothing on him, but the lies in his head, the fright in his heart, and the target on his back. When will the world see he suffered prejudiced just because he was black. Why do we think spreading the word is whack? Is it because you're not treated like that? Imagine living in a world with a pistol to your back and as soon as you make a move the wielder starts to attack. Imagine you knew that boy with the bullets in his back. Imagine if that was your best friend coming to see you that bright summers day just so y’all can play and relax. Rest in peace young black boy you've served your purpose. To show that hope in humanity is lost and laws are worthless. Our people fought for what it seems like we fight against today. Give a gun to a man and he'll show his true face. Pin a badge on that man and he gets away with murder. So, who's to say it's safe because the ones who are supposed to be protecting are the ones who are killing our sons and daughters. We can only get through by the grace of God and if you don’t believe you can still seek a higher cause. Don't turn the other cheek, don't sit in defeat, listen to the words I speak because the things I seek can still be reached. If we all come together peace, love, happiness, and unity is what we'll teach. Thank you.
